3/26/2025 - Construction activity will be taking place on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 starting at 7:00 AM. Parking lane closure in effect on East Bound Jefferson and Steve Yzerman Drive being monitored by the Detroit Police Department. Trucks with wide loads will be delivering to the project site on east bound Jefferson and Steve Yzerman. No Parking Tow Away Zones in effect.

05/30/2024 - Construction has commenced on the Water Square Hotel project. Right of Way lane closure is being installed on the west-bound curb side lane on Civic Center Dr. and will remain until project completion. Two-way traffic will remain operational on Civic Center Dr.

The newest addition to the Downtown Detroit skyline will see the development of a 25 story, 600 room large-scale Hotel that will be located adjacent to The Residences at Water Square. The hotel will be comprised of 5 podium floors with plans for a ground floor restaurant, lobby bar, ballrooms, meeting rooms, a swimming pool with spa and fitness area.

The hotel will be a meaningful addition to the riverfront and downtown, and further elevate the area’s hospitality offerings. This development will provide Detroit with a much sought-after convention center hotel that will include a pedestrian bridge with direct connection to the Huntington Place Convention Center.

This destination will serve the downtown Detroit community, the convention center as well as the West Riverfront and beyond. Water Square will be a featured and prime area for residents and visitors alike.
